Hawks Land Kristaps Porzingis trades with three teams

The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks, which includes three teams for the Brooklyn Nets.
Brooklyn will also win the second rounder with Terance Mann and the 22nd pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Georges Niang and the second round pick will head to Boston. ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported.
Since Mann was acquired into the CAP space, the transaction could not be completed.
In the past 24 hours, the Celtics have completely changed the momentum that once was the champion. The main purpose of trading Jrue Holiday and Porzingis is to be under the second apron. It’s now done.
Atlanta expressed interest in the Porzingis acquisition, while Brooklyn is now loaded for Wednesday’s draft.
This is how every team performs well in the deal.
Boston Celtics: C+
Many people will look at the rewards of porzingis and think it is insufficient. Porzingis thrives in Boston and provides a solid contribution to the title battle. He will miss it. He has to be traded not all on the Celtics, though. These are the consequences involved in the second apron force team.
The only ‘F’ rating here should be obtained is the new CBA and the owner of the execution. One team had to remove the lineup due to a significant injury to the best player, which showed that the second apron rule took things too far.
Boston was forced into a salary dump due to the proposed situation, saving nearly $180 million in tax penalty. The Celtics are now $4.5 million under the apron after trading holidays and Pozingis. Especially considering Porzingis’s injury history, this is a calculated logical action.
Trade Kristaps Porzingis now puts Boston under a second apron.
Porzingis and Jrue holiday deals save Boston’s estimated tax fine of $180 million.

It was the result of Tatum’s injury and second apron, which was Boston’s ugly hand, while Brad Stevens did what he had to do.
Payton Pritchard, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown are the core of the team next season. One must imagine Al Horford – an unrestricted free agent – will also be on his way out.
Atlanta Hawks:
With the chance knocking, the Eagles did a great job of getting potential differential manufacturers.
When healthy, the original five Trae Young, Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu and Porzingis projects are all very competitive in the modified Oriental.
Mann was acquired at the 2025 trade deadline, and the second round pick was also a victim of the real escalation.
The Cleveland Cavaliers look like they are in the Eastern Conference favorite, and the New York Knicks will be there. Apart from that, many things may change. That’s Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard all suffered from Achilles’ breakup during the playoffs.
Brooklyn Nets:
This is Brian Windhorst, “Why do they do this?” Nets’ moment?
Brooklyn now has the 8th, 19th, 22nd, 26th and 27th picks in the 2025 NBA Draft. It’s hard to imagine the network using all these draft picks themselves. The most likely scenario is to tie lower draft picks together to improve in the draft.
Maybe even a pair of packs with No. 8 put them in the top five.
It was a wise use of the cap space to become the player in this deal and got a very convenient draft pick.
