Hannah Klugman and Mika Stojsavljevic: 16-year-old Wimbledon premiere prepares for career

Annabel Croft won the Wimbledon at the age of 17, and he has some reservations about the players moving too fast.

“When I was in junior year, I was like Hannah,” Croft said.

“The year I won my junior year [Australian Open and Wimbledon titles] I was competing in the seniors at the same time. I played in court in the third round at Wimbledon’s idol Chris Evert, but I wasn’t focusing on my junior year.

“I’m even more excited about playing Wimbledon’s senior veteran and engaging with the best in the world.

“But in hindsight, it was one of my proudest moments and I realized that I would be joining that trophy cabinet forever.

“I think whatever happened to her [Klugman] There is plenty of time to fight seniors, but one thing you can say about juniors is that you will never take your time again.

“So I got it all, but I just hope she doesn’t regret it.”

The WTA’s age eligibility rules limit the age of 16 to 12 professional games each year, although anyone who completes the year in the top five in juniors can play an extra four.

So next year, professional tours can expect to see more couples who have been playing each other since they were under 10 years old.

Stojsavljevic named Maria Sharapova and Novak Djokovic as her idols, a clean and powerful batsman, while Klugman can serve and volley and in her own words – “not play like a normal woman”.

“I have slices, I like to change the pace and make the players mess up a little – and I serve a lot,” she said this year at Wimbledon.

“I used to like Ash Barty and I really like Emma Navarro.”
