Guerschon Yabusele signs with the Knicks because he wants to go on 2025-26

With the 16th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Celtics (Guerschon Yabusele) were selected by the Celtics outside of France. Yabusele played for Boston for two seasons before giving up on Boston in July 2019.
After being released from the Celtics, Yabusele brought his career abroad and had to find his way back to the NBA. The 29-year-old never gave up and eventually signed with the Sixers before the 2024-25 season. As a free agent in 2025-26, Yabusele signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the New York Knicks. Yabusele said in a recent interview that he joined the Knicks because he hopes to “play for something” this upcoming season.

Guerschon Yabusele returns in 2024-25 after five years of absence in the NBA. It took years of hard work and dedication to return to the biggest stage of basketball. After Yabusele was abandoned by Boston, she brought her career abroad. He has played in China and Spain for several seasons. These include time with the Shanghai Sharks in China and three seasons with Real Madrid in Spain.
Guerschon Yabusele is part of the French team at the 2024 Paris Olympics and he received an NBA contract. His years of determination to enter the NBA finally paid off.
