Grumpy. There was a conflict between fans. This Ryder Cup is on the verge

Farmingdale, N.Y. – Rory McIlroy sprinted on the hill behind Bethpage Black’s 17th hole, with his arms out of his fist pump and how to scream in the direction of a group of European fans.
McIlroy returns from the 18th hole and he and best partner Shane Lowry just ended the U.S. opponent in the first game of the fourth Ryder Cup match. Now he’s back to cheer on the game he’s left behind, the Blue Flags are filled with scoreboards and the blowout victory they almost guaranteed.
These fans serenade him in the national anthem at the time, singing Cranberry’s “Zombies”:
He is on your sea
In your heeead
ro-o-ry, ro-o-ry, ro-o-ry, ry, ry
McIlroy advanced, sending the high fives to the fanatical chaos before sailing back to his teammates. But then, as he turned, the crowd flew over: a half drink, which sailed in the air, and walked beside him from the hat of Erica, McIlroy’s wife.
The whole accidental spins in surprise – Erica, Rory, Lowry, Marshal, Teammate, Assistant Coach – and Lowry start walking towards the crowd before being restrained by European players. It is not clear whether the cup comes from a malicious intention or whether it comes from an excited euro. Either way, this moment passed, the revelers escaped unidentified, and the team turned to the 17th Green to return their attention to the remaining two games. But this moment tells the story of the day: the joy of sports and the excitement of the thrill of the environment with some stinging events that cross the line, and eventually, McIlroy and the Highway team completely dominate the final word.
Have fans crossed the line? It was a question around Bethpage Grounds for most of Thursday afternoons, especially after “Is there any way to get back to this point…?” was resting.
There is no way to give a simple answer, so let’s try a few. Yes, fans crossed the line. Two lines, need to be specific. European captain Luke Donald sent them out, procedural and personal dispatch: First, when he actually shot his shot, screaming at a player is a bad form, followed by annoying behavior, screaming at the player’s family, especially knowing that the player and his family are hearing it there. Fans have done both, not only one or two fans a lot of Fans’ ball and frustration are due to the size of the event and the size of the home team’s deficit and the fact that there are only tens of thousands of fans in the course and only four groups. So when you are some type of fan and finally have a glimpse of Rory and Co., you’re going to calculate it.
However, the same is true of the atmosphere that negates the entire event based on the crossing of lines. After all, it’s sports and once people start caring for players and fans, the sports gets great. Care is the point – we got that in spades. There are excellent sporting scenes all day long, and European heroes stimulate the height of American opponents. These are unprecedented F-bombs, thousands of people bring players the way they will return before 7 o’clock and after. It’s on top. This is a wonder. The golf ball in between is impressive.
“Look, we know what we’re going to go here,” Laurie said. “It’s been a very tough day. Being with Rory didn’t make it easier; I think he’s the brunt.”
McIlroy said he was happy to have Lowry beside me on Saturday afternoon: “He’s around me today.
Laurie added: “It’s intense. It’s like something I’ve never experienced. But that’s my life. It’s like that. Honestly, it’s why I wake up in the morning because of something like this. It’s what I love to do.”
It’s hard for anyone to hate Tommy Fleetwood or any of several other lovely members of the European team. But Saturday’s atmosphere was so stressful that tensions boiled elsewhere. McIlroy/Lowry’s afternoon match put world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (0-3-0 of the first three meetings) and Megastar Bryson DeChambeau (1-2-0) against Fleetwood and Justin Rose. The Americans eagerly won the victory, but Ross arrived in his pocket with magic, pouring putts left and right as he released six birdies in the first eight holes and built an insurmountable lead.
But the moment on the 15th tee shows once again how different the Ryder Cup is from any other golf tournament in the world. When DeChambeau and his caddie Greg Bodine had a line with Rose, Rose lined up on his birdie putt, so he drove them out.
Ross later said: “Ask him to move. Maybe not as polite as I could.”
Rose made the putter. After a moment, DeChambeau made his own birdie putt and celebrated in Rose’s direction. Suddenly, they were suddenly frustrated as they walked to the next tee – Dechambeau and Rose, Bodine and Fleetwood’s caddie Ian Finnis, even Scheffler’s caddie Caddy Ted Scott, and, European assistant Francesco Molinari, they grabbed a shoulder from Scott while walking between the parties. Ultimately, Finnis is the type of 6-foot-6-inch peace intensity – it makes it clear that they all should put it down, so they did. But it involves how stressful the environment becomes and how golf performs in it.
“I feel good, but watching Justin Rose on the golf course is some of my proudest hours on the golf course,” Fleetwood said. “I absolutely love it. I’m lucky to be around him today.” That’s the third ingredient defined by the day: nervousness. Incredible golf. and the European Brotherhood.
“You know, the crowd has energy, and you can use it as you like. But, that’s your framework.”
“There is a stimulus, a reaction, and in between is the way you decide what to do. I think some people will find that motivation. Sometimes the crowd can be the motivation for some of these players, and I think Rory and Shaun certainly look like they are almost enjoying the difficult environment.”
A moment with real sportsmanship Between two teams. Both sides seemed to appreciate the heroism of their opponents. In the afternoon, the Golf Channel reported that the euro had completed 34 times under par, while the United States shot 31 in the ridiculous total birdies.
Justin Thomas and Cameron Young are golfers for McIlroy and Lowry. After a few relentless cheers, the Americans began to radiate crowds before their opponents played. This is harder than it sounds. How do you slow down the mob? But they stick with it for the rest of the game, trying to make sure the game is played fairly (even if it is cruel). However, this caused it to be particularly huge losses.
“The Ryder Cup is the only game that can be had fun and lost,” Thomas said. “It just brought some incredible golf. I would play and fight CAM any day of the week. I was just frustrated that we didn’t finish.”
In the final hour of the game, European team members surfaced around Bert Patch’s closed hole, smiling and hugging and basking in the sun ole, ole ole ole ole An ode to fans. The whole thing feels like celebrating, like they have already made the deal. Fairly, they effectively Have done it The deal was reached; the Ryder Cup team never scored more than 4 points lower, and the United States entered Sunday’s 7 points.
But, despite this, we got golf on Sunday. We will get more celebrations. We will make McIlroy the center of it when he sees whether he can finish a dream season by defeating Scottie Scheffler. Fans will do their best to stop him. They might inspire him. Then there will be a two-year wait until we reach the next Ryder Cup – wondering where the line is.
