Golf Business News – Volume 2 links to Fylde Coast, Lake District and Cumbria

Architect, writer, photographer and golf course enthusiast Sam Cooper published a volume two of his in-depth review of the UK Links course.
The latest volume of the series, titled Link – is the second book in 18 “magazines” that is being released quarterly and will eventually include detailed features for each of the 225 linked courses Cooper encountered during his trip.
Volume 2 includes papers on 12 links, from open championship venue Royal Lytham & St Annes to the little-known 9-Holer of St Bees in Cumbria, as Cooper continues to travel the coast. It also saw him circling Castletown on the Isle of Man and then from Fairhaven to Northwest to Silos.
“It's a weird hybrid of history, architecture, photography and purity,” Cooper said. His blog and social media channels resonate with all golfers who dream of doing something similar. “The courses in Volume 2 are still only my home in the Willal Peninsula for just one short day, but on the tour, I encountered a lot for the first time.”
He added: “I hope all the well-known courses are good, many people will hear, and there are some completely unknown courses. Over time, I hope this series will grow into a series for those who like Links Golf. A planned reference series for planning future trips in order to experience these courses for yourself.”
Published by magazine experts 18players, each volume takes twelve courses and gains insight into their character and history. Each review includes Cooper's own photography, while the illustrations provide further unique details. In each article, he also meditates on the architecture of the golf course, detailing his favorite holes in every leg of his trip, and providing personal advice on eating and accommodation along the way.
Volume 2 of the link to this road costs £17 and can be ordered from linksfromtheroad.com. Volumes 3 to 18 will be followed quarterly. Subscription Offer offers subscriptions to purchase all 18 volumes.
