Golf Business News – Royal Cartoon Trust Toro Mechanical Open Champions Courses and Maintenance

Toro machinery and irrigation are once again used to show the world the Dunluce Links of Royal Prancus Golf Club to participate in the Open Championship.
UK-based Toro issuer ReeSink Turfcare will provide additional backup Toro machinery and support throughout the week of July and can confirm that a new long-term agreement for continuous collaboration has been recently completed.
According to R&A, with more than one million fans applying for tickets, it is becoming the largest open in history (outside St Andrews), and the preparation for years is course manager Graeme Beatt.
“It feels like there is no time between the 2019 Open and the preparations for the 2025 Championships to begin,” Graeme said. “With the arrival of 40,000 people and the substantial growth in company hospitality, we work with R&A to improve the audience experience and agree that we will expand all audience areas, rebuild the scope and rebuild the first nine of the Valley courses.
“The rest of the changes are subtle. We’ve adjusted the first and seventh greens and have two new champion t-shirts in the fourth and seventh games – now, the fourth-time Green Vegetable is 25 yards longer, 15 yards longer than 2019.”
Now, the focus of preparation is on maintaining the course on its general tournament standards: “From the season to the season, we were busy with members and activities, so we kept the courses throughout the year with Toro,” Graeme explained.
Toro’s clients have been around for over 30 years, a team of 30 employees and an international support team of 18-year-olds will use the club’s complete fleet of Toro equipment, including battery-powered driving green mowers, court mowers and utility vehicles, as well as the new state-of-the-art Toro Lynx central control system to achieve ideal gaming conditions.
In addition, the club welcomes four Toro Vista shuttles configured by four, six and eight passengers for the first time to help transport people around the site.
Graeme tells us that the biggest thing is that the way Toro machinery is used for championships has changed.
“The accuracy and technology of the Greensmaster Etriflex 3370 riding lawn mower makes the result equal to a manual lawn mower,” Graeme told us. “This is a way when St Andrews and Royal Troon host the open open and eliminate oil leaks.”
The upgrade to the irrigation system includes the replacement of all the sprinklers with Infinity and B Series in two courses, currently being accommodated for an untimely dry spring, Graeme said: “Our mantra is very dry and if it was the end of June, it would be absolutely perfect, but due to its spring time we have to adopt the technology of the system.
“The individually controlled irrigation head is perfect for precise control of watering to ensure that only using the exact quantity, we can achieve our goals without wasting.”
Royal Protush General Manager Danny Campbell commented on the new agreement with Toro: “The club has been in a good relationship with Toro for over 30 years and we are excited to expand it further. Graeme’s team produces the best surfaces throughout the year, their dedication and their support, allowing us to deliver our courses to the highest standards in a row.”
Jon Cole, Partition Business Manager at Reeesink Turfcare, concluded: “We have a strong relationship with Royal Prothush for 35 years and have provided Graeme with all the equipment, backups and support that they need to make their third opening successful, which is an honor.”
