Golf Business News – Payntr Golf Gets IP Rights

Payntr Golf has acquired full ownership of the intellectual property rights of Golf-specific Payntr, thus ensuring full control of the brand’s future in this market.

By transitioning from a licensing model to full IP ownership, Payntr Golf now has full control over its brand identity, product development, marketing strategies and quality standards. This strategic position enhances the company’s brand equity, enhances its long-term valuation, and provides direct access to revenue from proprietary technology and brand development.

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Payntr was founded in 2021 by three long-time sports footwear experts Mike Forsey, Michael Glancy and David Paynter.

“Ensure ownership of our intellectual property is a fundamental moment for Payntr Golf,” said Mike Forsey, co-founder and president of Payntr Golf. “Owning our brand directly allows us to protect our construction, fully control our innovations, and accelerate our long-term growth with confidence. It’s not just about maintaining what we create, it’s about unlocking what’s next.”

Since launching its first golf shoe four years ago, Payntr Golf has rapidly expanded to global markets and secured distribution in Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa. The brand’s momentum reflects its in-depth focus on biomechanics, traction and propulsion technology and provides golfers with a real performance advantage.

Eighty-Seven SC Shoes were designed by PGA Tour Star and main champion Jason Day

Payntr Golf’s partnership with former World Numbers has further accelerated the brand’s growth trajectory. 1 and main champion Jason Day. The collaboration launched the Eighty Seven SC last year, a shoe developed with Day, designed to meet the needs of modern, sports golfers while also paying tribute to classic aesthetics.

“Our product pipeline is full of opportunities and now, with full IP ownership, we have the freedom and flexibility to bring these innovations to market in our own way,” added Michael Glancy, Co-founder and Creative Director of Payntr Golf. “This move marks the next stage for Payntr Golf as a global performance brand.”
