Golf Business News – Incorporate drives excellence in UK-leading courses

Two highly respected but contrasting British golf courses – Trump International, Scotland and Sussex Golf Club – set new benchmarks for turf health and course presentation by strategically using combined turf products.
In Trump International Scotland, course manager Eddie Irvine has spent more than a decade maintaining world-class link standards on the dramatic Aberdeenshire coastline. With the urgent need to open up in the new MacLeod course, Eddie and his team have expanded their agronomic strategy to include merged products in both courses.
Eddie’s first trial Merge link Through Grogreen Ltd, a Scottish distributor who works closely with Kenny Liddell, to understand how the product can penetrate the plant at colder temperatures, an important factor in Scottish climate.
“His initial trial was successful. We saw immediate improvements in color and turf health,” Eddie noted. “Since then, we have adopted Consolation Plus+ and Fairway throughout the old course and the entire annual agronomic program for the growth program for the MacLeod course.”
From a firm, fast green to a vibrant, healthy sidewalk, it is crucial to combine the ability to provide a custom blend. “They developed a custom blend for our Ultra-Fine Rye sidewalk,” Eddie explained. “It helps maintain the highest quality despite the high flow and tough conditions.”
Luke Ebersold, director of green courses for the new course, plans to continue to form a partnership with Consolidate to support the resort’s bold ambitiousness to deliver “the largest 36 holes in golf.”
Hold a bar in Highwoods
Meanwhile, the Sussex-based Highwoods Golf Club has also seen three consecutive years of collaborations from a three-year partnership with Consolate Turf’s technical sales manager Rob Welfeld.
After experiencing inconsistent fertilizer results, Jamie turned to a full liquid merger program tailored annually to meet the club’s unique needs. “We are now using liquids including seaweed, potassium and magnesium, and supported by conventional leaf analysis,” he said. “The results talk to themselves – improved color, stronger grass, faster recovery and fewer diseases.”

This scientific approach based on the analysis of the Sports Turf Institute allows Jamie to introduce the original course confidently. The program is especially important during the club’s 2024 Centennial, providing elite conditions on all major competitions.
Consolidate Turf technical sales manager Rob Welford emphasises the value of customisation: “Like all our customers we have a bespoke programme for Jamie. The use of the Consolidate nitrogen source gives the turf an efficient food source to make the building blocks of proteins and amino acids to deliver healthy results on the greens without any of the associated drawbacks of conventional nitrogen sources.
“The liquid provides the control needed to provide the correct dose of control. We perform leaf analysis to check everything the factory is receiving is receiving. This is combined with the method and fairway procedures to suit its individual needs and requirements in these different areas.”
For this approach, Jamie maintains a three-week treatment schedule, which he also applies during the winter to prevent disease.
“The results talk to themselves,” Jamie said. “With consistent improvements in each area. Improvements in color, grass strength and wear resistance, fewer diseases and faster recovery.”
