Wade’s struggle has been a major part of the team’s offensive drought, but unlike many teammates, the 31-year-old has never been in 2025. His batting this season is .167/.275/.271 and is currently in a 2-22 game.
This is a rapid and shocking decline for Wade, who is a solid bat for San Francisco in 2021-24. He has been the Giants’ primary first baseman during that time, and although he has never been a huge threat to power, he has been a base machine. Wade is one of the best acquisitions in the San Francisco era Farhan Zaidi, from the twins in a February 2021 deal Sean Anderson Go to Minnesota. In Wade’s defense, his average 0.211 ball in the game was 70 points higher than the league average. However, this cannot be explained entirely by doom, as his current career is at a maximum of 47.3%. Flying balls that stay in the yard are easier to translate into outs than ground athletes (especially line drivers), so even without a doubt, Wade’s current hitting performance shouldn’t be returning to his career all the time.279 Babip.
