The Worst American Ryder Cup Match in History

The art of a good partnership can require a lot of variables to be right. Few people can stay together in two games, and in recent times, we’ve seen more professional pairings with four-ball and backup shooting formats.
Let’s see which partnerships fail to inspire each other to life, starting with the most famous mismatch in competition history.
1. TigerWoods and Phil Mickelson (P2 W0 L2 H0)
On paper, this can be incredible. Mickelson just broke his main duck at 200,4 Augusta, and his worst finish ranked sixth in the quarter, while Woods’ spells are relatively beautiful, but he’s also been eight-time main champion Tiger Woods.
At the time, the couple had no G, which made Hal Sutton’s move even more mean. One big problem is the ball. Woods likes a high spinner, while Mickelson is a low spinner. At that time, in a quarter, you had to play the same ball, which meant the left-handed used most of his practice, trying to get used to Woods’ Nike ball.
Then there is Mickelson who has just switched to Callaway Club. Then raise the fact that they were told about the partnership only two days in advance.
The result was Colin Montgomerie and Padraig Harrington won four wins in the opening four goals before Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke beat the four.
“In my career history, I’ve never had a batting test two days ago. I’ve never done it. If we knew it a month in advance, we might be able to make it work. I think we might make it work. But we didn’t know until two days ago.
I think it’s a sign of great leadership. If we have time to prepare, I think we will do it. But this is an example of starting with the captain, who puts us in a failure and we absolutely failed on the monument. ”
2. Tiger Woods and Patrick Reed (P2 W0 L2 H0)
Remember, Tommy Fleetwood held a long putt on the 16th when Tommy Fleetwood enjoyed the celebration at Le Golf National. Well, that was against Reed and Woods and helped Europe point out the board on Friday Thursday.
So it’s fair enough to go out again the next morning. What happened when they collapsed was horrible, again against Fleetwood and Molinari. Their score was bad, and we later discovered that Reid wasn’t when Jordan Spieth moved with Justin Thomas.
As for Woods, he just came from winning the Tour and lost four straight games throughout the week.
3. Ben Crenshaw + Anyone (P8 W1 L6 H1)
Crenshaw played on four teams and won twice. The player is considered one of the best putters of all time, failing to win a four-goal game, and when he keeps Tom Watson in company, he only wins a single quarter.
His overall Ryder Cup record was very poor at 29.2%, which made his captain prove to be a happier thing.
4. ScottieScheffler and Brooks Koepka (P2 W0 L1 H1)
It ended with a half-point when the two studs paired in r when Jon Rahm rolled in putter beauty in No. 18 on Friday Thursday.
Next MOR, they were torn apart by premiere Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland in the 4th and 7th foursomes. We still remind us of Scheffler’s devastating expression after the game – it was the biggest four-man victory in the game – and there was no words to explain what was going on.
“I think we could have met a lot of people, and today we’re hard to beat. Obviously, Scottie and Brooks aren’t in their game today, yes, that’s where 9 and 7 come in,” Hofland said.
“It was an incredible moment for me to play with one of the best players in the world, Victor and play with other world-class players. S, it was incredible to me, but obviously today is sometimes surreal. Sometimes it can almost pinch myself.”
5. JimmyWalker and Rickie Fowler (P4 W0 L1 H3)
It’s so unfair and directed to Captain Tom Watson, but it’s certainly worth coming back. The two men played all four games in the previous two days. They twice limited Rory McIlroy to half, and on Friday afternoon, they were the only four-man not to lose.
So, going out again on Saturday afternoon is enough. But to attend the first three meetings and then stuffed with Victor Dubuisson and Graeme McDowell, which put Europe in a 10-6 lead. When other pairs rest, the memories of these two are wool jumpers and a late end.
For whatever reason, Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley never saw each other again after the first day, winning 2.5/3 on Spieth and Reed on Buoyancy.
6. Jim Frick + Anyone (p25 W6 L16 H3)
Furyk played 11 four-goal games and lost nine games, while his four-man record did not improve. The Americans have 16 partners in total, and none of them have won a 50% victory record than any one.
Nine of them are once and for all partnerships, including Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson. He will play with anyone, with two wins and two losses at K Club.
7. Zoeller and Hubert Green (P3 W0 L3 H0)
Zoeller’s record is terrible – He will win once, cut half of 10 outings. Of these eight failures, three of them will be green.
In 1985, Europe finally won again after waiting for 28 years, while the US duo will compete with Paul Way and Ian Woosnam twice.
