French Open 2025 results: Mirra Andreeva thanks fans for giving Yulia Putintseva ‘lucky charm’

Andreeva broke Putintseva’s hit percentage three times in the first set, leading 2-1 for the second time before a brief rain delay.

After the player returned, Putintseva briefly rallyed to lead 3-2, but Andreeva won the next four games to enter the fourth round, where she will face good friend Daria Kasatkina.

Since switching allegiance to Australia from Russia, Kasatkina has participated in her first Grand Slam, beating Spain’s tenth seed Paula Badosa 6-1 7-5.

In the third round, the third seed, Jessica Pegula, fought hard to defeat former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova 3-6 6-4 6-2.

The American missed the Clay Field Grand Slam last year and will bid for the second quarterfinals in Paris.

Next, Pegula will face one of the French duo’s Lois Boisson, ranking 361st in the world, namely Elsa Jacquemot, ranked 138th.
