Frank Defiant despite Tottenham waving PSG in the Super Cup final

New Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank insisted that his team lost the penalty against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup final despite his team losing a two-goal lead.

The Spurs are just months away from the second European trophy after Micky Van de Ven and New Club Cristian Romero put the North Londoners into the Italian Blue Stadium by 2-0.

But Luis Enrique’s Champions League champions won recent goals from Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos before winning the subsequent penalty shootout 4-3.

But for the big spells in the game, the scrambled French club seems to have few answers to the Europa League champion’s game plan: one seems to be scattered on the Danish manager’s blueprint, as the Spurs provide a guaranteed and largely avoids the risk.

Frank left Brentford this summer to take over from Ange Postecoglou, and he is keen to focus on the positive side.

“We are against one of the best teams in the world, maybe one of the best teams, maybe the best game, maybe the best,” Frank told TNT Sports after the game.

“We put them all in the 80 minutes we wanted and then changed the motivation. But there are so many positives, and it’s so proud of the team, the players, the club, the fans.

“There is a lot to be satisfied with, and when you’re having a penalty shootout, it’s a flip of the coin. We show that we might be tactical and pragmatic, high pressure, low defense, the first half is top and almost perfect.

“We show that we can fight against any team in the world. It’s a positive choice.”

Frank also admitted that while he was satisfied with his players, he insisted that there seemed no James Madison’s team could step up ahead of the Premier League season this weekend after midfielder suffered an ACL injury.

He added: “Overall, I’m happy with the team, but we can make it stronger.”

“It will be a little disappointed within 24 hours, but we will be ready tomorrow afternoon.

“On Friday, we’ll be ready and then we’ll fly around on Saturday [at home to Burnley in the Premier League opener]. ”
