Former ESPN analyst Bob Myers is leaving to become president of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment

Bob Myers signed with ESPN as a studio analyst ahead of the 2023-24 season. He previously served as general manager of the Golden State Warriors for 12 seasons.

Miles helped establish a golden era of Warriors basketball. Under his leadership, the team won four NBA championships. After the contract expired, Myers joined ESPN. He spent two seasons working for one of the largest media companies in all of sports. Recently, league insiders announced that Myers will embark on a new adventure after leaving ESPN. Bob Myers has been named president of sports for Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment.

Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment names Bob Myers new president

Former Warriors general manager and ESPN analyst Bob Myers is one of the most respected figures in the industry. He has a deep understanding of the sport and how to build a competitive roster. And not just in basketball. Myers is working with Commanders owner Josh Harris to find a new head coach and general manager for the team ahead of the 2024 season. In the 2024 season, Washington achieved a 12-5 record and advanced to the conference championship game.

Bob Myers was instrumental in the rapid turnaround among commanders. On Thursday, October 16, league insiders announced that Bob Myers will no longer serve as an ESPN analyst. Instead, he was named president of sports at Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment. Now, Myers can work with multiple teams across the company.

The largest teams are the Philadelphia 76ers in basketball, the New Jersey Devils in hockey, and Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Bob Myers is reportedly staying in California. However, he regularly travels to “HBSE/Commanders Properties and Events.” Additionally, Myers will work with the ownership and senior leadership of the HBSE team.

Bob Myers began his sports career as an agent. He served in that position for 12 years before transitioning to a front-office role. Myers was hired as general manager by the Warriors before the 2011-12 season. He spent 12 seasons with the Warriors and oversaw four championship teams. Bob Myers helped the Golden State Warriors become one of the top dynasties of all time. Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment looks to leverage the previous experience and leadership of Bob Myers to take its portfolio to the next level.
