FanGraphs Weekly Mailbag: November 15, 2025

Now that the World Series is over and the offseason is two weeks into the season, the mountain of questions in our mailbag has become a little lighter. For this reason, I made a new commit request. I’m sure if you’re reading this, you have at least some core question or curiosity swirling around in your mind, and we’re eager to answer it. As you’ll see from the variety of topics in this week’s column—from potential lost career earnings due to gambling charges, to a hypothetical seven-game series between fantasy and sci-fi characters—we’re interested in just about anything. To ask questions about the upcoming mailbag, please email mailbag@fangraphs.com.

That said, there are some questions that we simply can’t answer, interesting as they are. I’ll add one at the beginning of this week’s edition and give a brief response to it before we get to the main part of the mailing bag.

But first, a quick programming note: I’m going on vacation next week, so Meg will be running the mailbag in my absence. If you have any thoughts on the Seattle Seahawks or the 1997 Robert Zemeckis movie touchI’m sure she’d love to hear from you next week as she sorts through her email. As always, I want to remind everyone that this mailbag is exclusive to FanGraphs members. If you are not yet a member and want to continue reading, you can sign up to become a member here. It’s the best way to experience the site and support our staff, and it comes with many other benefits. Okay, let’s get started.
