Fabrizio Romano confirms surprise Arsenal transfer story

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a surprising story about Arsenal’s tour with interest in the potential transfer of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Chelsea goalkeepers appear to be on the Gunners’ radar as they are looking for a backup for David Raya next season.
Kepa isn’t the signing most Arsenal fans have been looking for in this transfer window, but it looks like he’s available after the loan at Bournemouth ends.
As Romano confirmed in the post on X below, Arsenal learned in the Kepa situation this summer that the former Real Madrid lender has a £5 million release clause in his contract.

Kepa struggled most of his time at Chelsea, but he rebounded at Bournemouth and it seems he might be a solid backup for Arsenal.
KEPA transfer interest has been confirmed
Romano published: “Arsenal learned that Kepa’s £5 million issuance terms are a backup of David Raya. As Sky UK reports, a backup of David Raya was conducted. Initial negotiations were conducted to understand the conditions of the transaction.”
An Italian journalist may not be the first to tell a story, but when he posts about something, you know it’s a real leg.
Arsenal fans may have other priorities this summer as they wait for the club to sign new strikers and new wingers, but Mikel Arteta can have a solid and experienced backup behind Raya.
Arsenal is going to sign another player from Chelsea?
If this deal happens, it will continue to take on the latest trends from Arsenal and Chelsea in the transfer market.
This mainly saw some aging slippers, such as David Louis, Willian and Raheem Sterling swapped Stamford Bridge for the UAE Stadium.
Still, there is Kai Havertz, who has made great progress since leaving Chelsea for Arsenal, and other big names Olivier Giroud and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are among the guys representing both clubs.
