Enzo Barrenechea can join Benfica permanently

Aston Villa midfielder Enzo Barrenechea will permanently turn to Benfica after joining the Portuguese club this summer.
The £2.5 million loan arrangement includes Benfica’s obligation to complete the transfer at a price of €12 million if specific conditions related to performance are met.
Enzo Barrenechea has performed well so far
Barrenechea’s move from Villa to Benfica was officially announced in July 2025 that the 24-year-old Argentinian arrived on a season’s loan for €3 million. According to SportWitness, the contract is characterized by a mandatory purchase clause worth €12 million, which will trigger if Barenechea makes 15 appearances for Benfica this season.
In addition to the transfer fee, Villa will sell 30% of the profits of the Rey’s expenses in Benfica in the future, with this sales term limiting to 10 million euros.
Barrenechea has been a key player in Benfica’s midfield so far, and it can be assumed that he will eventually reach a permanent transfer. He has played in eight games at the club and started all the games.
The ballerina needs to leave the villa

The midfielder has no future in Aston Villa and he will hope to resolve the club’s permanent exit as soon as possible. Joining Benfica permanently would be his ideal choice. It’s obvious that they value him and he will have regular opportunities with them. The player is still young enough to improve further and he needs regular games to continue to develop.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa hopes to use the proceeds he leaves to improve their roster. They don’t think he is a key part of the factory, and returning to the British club makes no sense for the players.
