“Envelope Rules” formulated in Ryder Cup and 1 US bench

Viktor Hovland won’t be competing in the Ryder Cup on Sunday. Nor will Harris English because of the “envelope rules”.
What are envelope rules? If someone is unable to play Sunday singles due to injury, it is the Ryder Cup agreement. No team on both sides agrees that before the event, each captain will select a player to sit down – the player’s name will be placed in an envelope and will only be cancelled in an emergency.
It is now working as Europe announces that Hofland will not be participating in Sunday due to a neck injury. In response, the envelope was opened and the English name was revealed, and each team got a little bit.
