Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu paused her search for a new full-time coach, saying she would be happy to “stay informal” as her part-time collaboration with Mark Petchey continues.

Raducanu brought Petchey to the famous British tennis circle and former coach of Andy Murray – casually joined her coaching team at last month's Miami Open.

Petchey was in the coaching box when the 22-year-old Briton reached the quarterfinals and made the best tennis ball of the season.

After Miami, Raducanu wanted Petchey to lead the team more regularly, but spending time in his TV broadcast work was a stumbling block.

Raducanu, who will return to competitive action this week after a month off, said Petchey will “fit” her other commitments at the WTA 1000 Clay-Court event.

“I’m happy with the setup I’m doing now – it’s working well,” World 49 said.

“I like him very much, I have known him since the United States opened [victory in 2021] It's great to have familiar faces around. ”
