Miami's Bam Adebayo predicts “a lot of changes” this offseason

On Monday, the Miami Heat were on the verge of elimination. They just lost the first round series to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3.

In Game 4 against the Cavaliers, the Heat had no chance and lost 55 points. For the series, they were beaten 122 points and 92 points in Games 3 and 4. After an embarrassing loss, Bam Adebayo talks to the media. He said there will be “a lot of changes” this offseason. Adebayo mentioned Pat Riley as the one who made the decision in Miami.

What's next after a playoff loss after losing to the Cavaliers?

Erik Spoelstra has been head coaching the Heat for 17 seasons. Miami won the playoffs in 14 of those 17 seasons. The Heat entered the playoffs for six consecutive playoffs. However, the 2025 playoffs will be a playoff to forget. The same can be said in the 2024-25 regular season. Miami was defeated in the first round series.

Miami lost to Cleveland on Monday with 55 points. In Games 3 and 4, the heat lost 92 points. This is the biggest difference in two games in playoff history. Additionally, the 122-point margin that won in four games set a new playoff record. After Game 4, Bam Adebayo said there will be “a lot of changes” this summer.

The Heat traded Jimmy Butler this season, which mainly affected Miami. He has been a key piece of their success over the last six seasons. Without Butler, the calories struggled in the second half of 2024-25. This includes 10 consecutive victories. If Bam Adebayo believes the change will happen this summer, then Pat Riley is also likely. Miami's roster could be rebuilding after an embarrassing 2025 playoff performance.
