Eastbourne Open Results: American Taylor Fritz

World No. 5 Taylor Fritz continued his outstanding performance against Wimbledon, reaching his fourth Eastbourne final with a battle victory.
The defending champion defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Saturday’s final against fellow American Jenson Brooksby.
Brooksby is a lucky loser who lost in the second round of qualifying for his fairy tale performance in Eastbourne.
The 149th in the world came from an early Friday victory over France’s fourth seed Ugo Humbert 6-3 3-6 7-5.
Fritz beat world third-ranked Alexander Zverev in the Stuttgart Open 12 days ago, a favorite of Wimbledon champions.
Last year, he will start his Wimbledon campaign at the 36th World Games against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard on Monday.
In recent years, Fritz has won his Eastbourne men’s singles champion three of the past five editions.
On Thursday, he won two games in a day after postponed his second round draw the day before.
“I always feel like things will be solved for me because they are always done here for some reason,” Fritz said in his stadium interview.
“Just show up here, be on the scene and play on the central court. I have some confidence in doing this.”
