Disturbing details shown in Terry Rozier’s betting survey – Basketball insider

Federal investigators uncover disturbing details, examining abnormal activities about NBA guard Terry Rozier.
Rozier recently represented the Miami Heat, but the game that attracted the greatest curiosity was when he was with the Charlotte Hornets. In the game between the Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans, a professional bettor bets 30 bets in a 46-minute time.
On March 23, 2023, a bettor on a sports book in Mississippi bets for Rozier statistics in a related game. Rozier left the game after 10 minutes of his foot release.
It has been discovered that at least six sports betting books in several states that day had discovered Rozier’s special betting. Most of the activity takes place in Louisiana and Mississippi.
The net profit of the major bettors concerned exceeded $13,000. Rozier had no injury reports before the game and left five points, four rebounds and two assists. These statistics are all below bet range.
Rozier’s attorney Jim Trusty said players were not the target of the investigation.
“Unfortunately, he’s a big name in sports and has to endure all of this,” Trusty told ESPN. “My hope and expectation is that at some point they will be done through a survey and are professional enough to let us know that this is 100% over and that they’re coming to the same conclusions as they’ll reach in 2023.”
Currently, the Heat owed $26.6 million in the 2025-26 season.
Rozier wants to avoid the same betting fate as Jontay Porter
The federal gambling investigation is part of what led to Jontay Porter being banned from the NBA.
In July 2024, Michael Porter, brother of Michael Porter Jr., pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge. He admitted to taking himself out of two games, which helped Bettors win bets on the “primer.”
Some betting accounts on Porter are also bet on Rozier’s chassis. There are also multiple college games that are marked as suspicious activities.
Currently, guard Malik Beasley is also investigating in the federal gambling investigation.
None of this is good about the NBA’s image and its growing relationship with gambling.
