So far, Sunderland and Burnley’s summer transfer windows are now going to be face-to-face signings that determine which club manages to avoid Premier League relegation this season.
Sunderland has had many signings, which are impressive – feel good when they beat West Ham 3-0 in the first game of the new season. They have signed two new centre-backs at Paris Saint-Germain and Getafe’s Nordi Mukiele and Omar Alderete, and the other will soon follow them.
Sunderland and Burnley compete to sign Gabriel Pereira
According to TeamTalk, Sunderland and Burnley are both interested in FC Copenhagen central defender Gabriel Pereira, who played against Chelsea in 16 areas of the UEFA Conference League last season. The 25-year-old has attracted the interest of many clubs from all over Europe, but the temptation of the Premier League may mean that one of the two newly competed clubs would be better off signing him.
However, Sunderland and Burnley will have a hard time signing Pereira this summer, as the report notes that the defender hopes to stay in FC Copenhagen for the time being. He is comfortable in Denmark and he often plays European football.
Given the respective transfer operations of both clubs, the Bandley missed in Pereira will certainly be more hit than Sunderland. It seems that both of them must move on from this situation, although it is possible to revisit it in the next 12 months.
