On June 30, 2025, the Dolphin traded Te Jonnu Smith to Steelers. He had 111 goals last season and scored 88 catches in 884 catch yards and eight touchdowns.
That is the second largest reception and reception code for all Dolphin Race catchers in 2024. During the offseason, Giants QB Darren Waller retired and was traded to Dolhins. He joins a TE room that lacks celebrity talent. On Wednesday on August 20, Waller was activated on Miami’s puppies list. He will practice Sicne to join the Dolphins for the first time in the offseason.

The Miami Dolphins will be the fourth series played for veteran Te Darren Waller. In 2015, Waller was the sixth round pick for the Baltimore Ravens. Waller was dealing with drug abuse early in his career. It was so bad that he was suspended by the league and missed the entire 2017 season. But Waller got the help he needed and was able to bounce back his career.
He signed with the Raiders, and that was Waller’s productive season in his NFL career. In 2020, Waller had 107 catches for a total of 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns. It was the only time he was selected for the Pro Bowl. Waller has been working to stay healthy since the impressive campaign in 2020.

After the 2022 memorial, the Raiders trade Waller to the Giants. He played in New York for a season before retiring. During the offseason, the 32-year-old retired and was traded to the Dolphins. Darren Waller has been away from the NFL for more than a year. He needs to spend some time getting used to playing with the dolphins.
Other TES on Miami’s roster include Julian Hill, Pharaoh Brown and Tanner Conner. Hill started from Campbell in 2023 and played for the Dolphins for two seasons. Brown played 15 of 17 games in Seattle in 2024. Fianlly, Conner did not seek Idaho in 2022 and played for Miami for three seasons. In 2025, Dolphin’s TE room may have many shortcomings. Waller’s agent SIAD, he hopes his clients are ready for the start of the 2025 season.
