Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs (knee) are expected to play against the Hawks on Thursday

Before the 2025 season, the Dallas Cowboys did what no one wanted to do. Owner Jerry Jones trades generational defensive talent Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

Dallas’ defense will undoubtedly be worse in 2025. On Thursday, September 4, the Cowboys are on their way to the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. While the team won’t have Micah Parsons, the Cowboys’ defense did get some positive news. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Cowboy CB Trevon Diggs (Knee) is expected to play a role with the Hawks.

Trevon Diggs to offer Dallas Cowboys in Week 1

In a second round pick at the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cowboys picked Trevon Diggs from Alabama. He has played 58 games for Dallas in five seasons and scored 57 games. His best season so far was in 2021, when he made the league-leading 11 interceptions. He returned two of the interceptions for a touchdown. With this impressive season, Diggs were named the first team All-Pro. In 2022, Diggs competed in all 17 games of the Cowboys and made three interceptions.

Staying healthy over the past two seasons has been an uphill battle for the 26-year-old. In 2023, Diggs played only two games for the Cowboys after the ACL tear. Last year, he played 11 of 17 games for the Cowboys. However, DIGG requires late-season knee surgery. This is the 2023 ACL torn on the same knee.

During the offseason, Pro Bowl CB adopted a “cartilage tissue transplant procedure” to solve his knee problems. To start the camp, Trevon Diggs are on the puppies list. Dallas removed him from the puppies list on August 24. Diggs is a formal participant in practice Tuesday before the opening ceremony of the Dallas season.

That’s why NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Trevon Diggs is expected to take place Thursday night. Just a week ago, Diggs gave himself 75-80% of the game in Week 1. Since then, the team has traded Micah Parsons and Dallas’ defense has also been questioned. Will Trevon Diggs feel the pressure to get back on the field and make an impact on the denim?
