Scott Laughlin: “I want to go back to the early part of the game, if you will, and to Fritsch, in the first half of the game, Connor Bedard was very noticeable for Chicago, right? And certainly in the first 1:46, his wrist shot beat (Sergei) Bobrovsky but hit the crossbar and the crossbar. That’s right. I’m just wondering, Fritsch, what do you think of his long-term future in Chicago? Chicago?”
Again, this is a situation that doesn’t need to happen next week or next month, and they have plenty of time to extend the lives of their young, emerging superstars. But what do you think about his long-term future in the Windy City, and maybe what his next contract will look like? “
NHL Rumors: When Connor Bedard will re-sign with Chicago Blackhawks
Elliot Friedman: “Well, I think it’s going to be a big number. I mean, you must have thought it was going to be eight figures, right? You didn’t? So, yeah. I mean, I know they talked a little bit this year and they decided to wait. And by the way, I think Bader obviously is The cornerstone, but that (Frank) Nazar kid, the kids, are something else, so I think he’s going to be an eight-figure guy, and just depending on what term they choose and when it’s done, it’s going to be a big deal.”
Is a Carter Hart signing announcement coming soon?
Elliott Friedman was asked on his Sirus XM NHL Network radio show about Carter Hart, Michael McLeod and other players involved in Team Canada tryouts and whether they will find NHL jobs.

NHL Rumors: Ryan Hutson, Michael McLeod and Carter Hart
Gord Stryker: “So next week, when we talk, if my date is correct, will be the first day of eligibility for Carter Hart and others. Five players who participated in summer workouts will likely sign with NHL teams. Do you think he and others will do that on October 15th?”
Elliot Friedman: “Well, obviously, they can’t sign until the 15th, but they can come in. They can come to a verbal agreement beforehand. Gordy, they’re in that window now where they can start completing the paperwork for immigration and other things. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see information about Hart before then. I don’t know what’s going on with the other four players.
As most have heard by now, Carolina was considering McLeod but ultimately fell through. So that didn’t happen. I think there are reports that McLeod is going to Russia, but I don’t know. I haven’t seen this yet. Hart, I do think there will be something. I’m just waiting for confirmation. “
NHLRumors.com NOTE: Michael McLeod signed with KHL.
