Cincinnati opens: Carlos Alcaraz beats Andrey Rublev to semifinals

World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz fought Andrey Rublev 6-3 4-6 7-5 to reach the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open.
The Spaniard controlled the first set, but his Russian opponent made a great fight.
However, the world’s No. 11 Rouble’s quality faltered in the tense and decisive third set as he committed two double malfunctions, one of which was at the match point.
