Cincinnati Open: Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu abandoned her new coach’s confident start next to Olga Danilovic, who is open in Cincinnati.

Francis Roig, former coach of UK No. 1 Rafael Nadal, added to her team as she prepares for the upcoming U.S. Open.

The New York surprise 2021 champion won 6-3 6-2 in her first game since Espanyol made it.

Danilovic beat Britain’s third place Katie Boulter in the first round, and Raducanu goodbye, the Serbian No. 1 both broke Raducanu in the first match of Saturday’s game.

In four games between the two in the opening five games, Raducanu lowered from 30-0 to grab another game and scored 5-3.

The 22-year-old scored seven points in a row, scored three fixed points and finished first with ace.

In the second set, Rakanu made a mistake from her 24-year-old opponent and eventually won a 3-2 break.

Since then, the world’s No. 39 is four positions higher than Danilovic, as she did not give up another game when she booked her position in the third round at Ohio.

Raducanu, who played in the WTA 1,000 for the first time since 2022, may be facing the world’s No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who suffered a narrow Wimbledon defeat last month.

Earlier, Poland’s Iga Swiatek gradually eased its last 32 times as the Wimbledon champion beat Russia’s Anastasia Potapova 6-1 6-4.

Australian Open champion Madison Keys saved two matches before defeating Germany’s Eva Lys 1-6 6-3 7-6 (7-1).
