Cincinnati, Doha, Bastad named 2025 ATP Championships
Awards based on player survey results
November 9, 2025
The Cincinnati Open, Doha Qatar ExxonMobil Open and Bastad Nordic Combined Open have been named the tournaments of the year in their respective categories at the 2025 ATP Awards, based on player survey results.
The Cincinnati event was named the ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year for the first time after completing a $260 million renovation at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. The Doha event also received promotion, becoming an ATP 500 event this season and leading voting at that level, while the seaside Bastad event was named ATP 250 Event of the Year for the 13th time.

The Cincinnati Open has doubled its footprint to more than 40 acres, transforming its grounds into an unforgettable campus that blends elite tennis with an amusement park atmosphere and lives up to expectations. Mason City, Warren County and the state of Ohio jointly invested $260 million.
Now in its 126th year, the event welcomes more players than ever before – 96 players in the singles main draw and 32 players in the doubles – extending the competition to 12 days and creating one of the most fan-friendly environments on the tour.
“We are extremely honored to be named the ATP Masters 1000 Championship of the Year for the first time in our history,” said tournament director Bob Moran. “This recognition reflects the vision and commitment of Ben and Kelly Navarro to create a best-in-class experience not only for fans, but also for the players who make the sport so special. This award is a true team achievement, and we are grateful to the ATP and players for recognizing this effort.”
Carlos Alcaraz won the men’s singles title in Cincinnati this year, while Rajiv Ram and Nikolay Mektic captured the doubles title at the August event.

A six-time winner in the ATP 250 category, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open has raised its standards of excellence in event organization, player service and hospitality to receive Tournament of the Year honors, marking its promotion to the ATP 500 level.
The upgrade of the February event further strengthens its global standing – attracting elite players including Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic – and enhances its influence within the region and beyond.
“We are extremely honored to receive the award for Best Event in the ATP 500 category,” said tournament director Karim Alami. “This recognition reflects the passion, dedication and teamwork that goes into our event. From our incredible players and loyal fans to our committed sponsors and staff, everyone contributes to creating a world-class experience on and off the pitch.
“This award inspires us to continue to raise the bar and deliver a memorable competition for years to come.”
Andrey Rublev defeated Jack Draper in the three-set final to win the Doha men’s singles title and the tournament’s coveted Golden Falcon trophy. Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool defeated Joe Salisbury and Neil Skupski in the All-England doubles final.

The Nordic Open has been named the ATP 250 Tournament of the Year for 11 consecutive years from 2002-12 and has now won the award in two of the past three seasons. The Swedish tournament is one of the most scenic events on the ATP Tour calendar and ranks high as it celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2023.
“This is great news and we are of course delighted and grateful. Our goal has always been to provide the best service and hospitality to all our guests, players, partners and spectators,” said Christer Hult, CEO and Managing Director. “This confirms the team is doing a great job and motivates us to continue to develop the event further. A huge thank you to the players, our organization and the ATP support team.”
Sixth-seeded Italian Luciano Dadri won this year’s Bastad singles title in July, while top-seeded doubles Guido Andreozzi and Sander Arends won the doubles final in a tie-break.

ATP Master 1000: Shanghai
ATP 500: Dubai, Barcelona
ATP 250: Kitzbühel, Almaty, Stockholm
This year, the ATP unveiled changes to the ATP Awards designed to increase the prestige and excitement of the season’s most prestigious honor.
For the first time, members of the exclusive ATP No. 1 Club (29 current and former players who have reached the No. 1 spot in the world) will determine the winners of the annual Breakthrough Award and the Stephen Edberg Sportsmanship Award.
The new Breakthrough of the Year Award category is awarded to the player who has had the biggest breakthrough on the ATP Tour this season, taking into account milestone wins, significant jumps in the PIF ATP Rankings and first ATP Tour titles. While there is no age limit, the award is aimed at the next generation and younger players.
