China Open: Katie Boulter defeats Hailey Baptiste of Beijing

Boulter will now face the daunting task of Wimbledon and U.S. Open Runner-up Amanda Anisimova.
She spent a mixed year, but after adjustment, she had an impressive victory at Moyuka Uchijima in Japan to help Britain reach the Billie Jean King Cup semifinals.
She lost 3-6 6-4 6-2 to world seventh place Jessica Pegula as Britain was beaten 2-0 by the United States.
Elsewhere, Novak Djokovic confirmed that he will play at the Shanghai Masters in October – his first appearance since the U.S. Open semi-finals.
The Serb has repeatedly stated that he will reduce his calendar in the last few years of his career to protect his body.
The 38-year-old entered the Shanghai final last year but lost to Jannik Sinner, who was the world’s number one at the time.
Sinner and the current world number one Carlos Alcaraz returns to the ATP Tour in Beijing and Tokyo respectively this week.
