Chelsea player joins NFL legend Tom Brady after winning the club World Cup

Chelsea ended the 2024/25 season in an unforgettable way – not only winning the improved Club World Cup, but also celebrating fashionable time with the US football royalty.

Enzo Maresca’s team dominated the finals, sending European champions Saint-Germain at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. Star Mann Cole Palmer hit twice and João Pedro added a third – his third goal in two games – to secure the championship.

Among the star-studded crowd is U.S. President Donald Trump, who was unexpectedly (and long) in his trophy speech, NFL idol Tom Brady, who watched from Trump’s private suite before joining the Blues since the night.

After lifting the trophy, Chelsea’s rejoicing squad returned to their team hotel, with hundreds of fans gathering to welcome them as world champions. The celebrations have been moving forward with private gatherings, with players, staff and VIP guests toasting the end of a tough 11-month campaign.

Brady was a seven-time Super Bowl winner – a special guest at the event, with several Chelsea players lined up with American legends to take photos. The newly signed Darrio Essugo shared a story tagged Brady the Goat on Instagram Story and looked particularly excited to meet him.

The squad also hosted karaoke shows – including Moisés Caicedo, echoing the scene in a May Europa League victory – and Chelsea’s successful architect Maresca also celebrated with staff from the New York Party.

João Pedro’s £60m from Brighton already looks like a bargain.

He was told: “João, you’re on vacation and now you’re the world champion.” Smiling, he simply replied: “What can I say – this is Chelsea.”

There is no doubt that this is the music of the ears of blues fans everywhere.
