This week, expert Alan Shearer issued a warning in his speech in the Premier League this week, and there is no doubt that Maresca has achieved the toughest match in any Champions League qualifier.
“Looking at the fixtures, there is no doubt that Chelsea's running-in is the hardest,” Shearer said.
“The league could be Liverpool. Obviously, Newcastle is a huge game. And the last game against Nottingham Forest, they are probably playing for everyone, who got the Champions League spot. For me, it was the toughest run.”
The fixture is also tilted to audition with £100,000 a week winger Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge and is obliged to buy from Man United.
Although Sancho's stay on paper is essential, over the past few months, reports have reported that Chelsea could cancel the move by paying a £5 million fine.
Sancho is said to have reached an agreement on the permanent Chelsea move, but it seems the club can indeed choose to be unsure of his accommodation.
Chelsea decides to keep Jadon Sancho after trigger clause
The obligation of £25 million depends on Maresca's match above No. 15, which is mathematically guaranteed, so the clause was triggered.
This is according to Caughtoffside, who also shared the latest news from Chelsea about using £5million fees to buy the 25-year-old man.
The media claims Chelsea decided to keep Sancho at Stamford Bridge next season and there is no plan to pay the fine as his form improved in recent weeks and people within the club viewed him as a “wise investment.”
Bruce insiders also believe that the value of £25 million will be worth the money, and if they do decide to sell the British in the future, Sancho may end up being worth more than that.
Chelsea is happy to pay the full fee for Sancho after Maresca claims the former Borussia Dortmund star is a “special” player.
Maresca told Sancho: “As I said before, he will definitely help us. We really believe he is a special player.”
“But he confirmed that this is the only way to work hard every day, never be happy, always ambitious.”
