Oriole’s complete Luis Castillo

Orioles announced on Monday Louis Castillo Waived unclaimed and accepted a direct mission from Triple-A Norfolk. Baltimore designated him as a mission last week.
Castillo has not yet played in Baltimore’s major league games. O acquired him from Seattle in the DFA trade in early May. Castillo was immediately selected and quickly landed on the minor league injury list. He was not ready to return from the IL until June 29, the same day the Oriole assigned him to do his mission. His only appearance in the Baltimore system so far is a pair of rehabilitation at their Florida complex branch.
The 30-year-old Castillo made two starts for the Mariners in April. He allowed seven innings (six gains), walking more than three strikeouts. This marks his first Major League Baseball work since the 2022 Tigers debut. Castillo has been thorough and thorough in his career, so he could have rejected the task, but he will remain in the Baltimore system. He believes that since he is healthy, he can gain a place in Norfolk’s rotation.
