Chase Delauter missed 6-8 weeks due to Hamate surgery

Guardian announces outlook today Chase Delauter Surgery is required due to a fracture of the right Hamate. Their announcement notes that the typical return schedule for such a procedure is six to eight weeks.
It was another frustrating injury setback for Delauter, who had a lot of it. Repeated foot injuries have limited his workload in 2023 and 2024. This year, he needed core muscle surgery in March, which took him several months. Now, it seems like this surgery may take more time.
Delauter is the 16th pick in the 2022 draft, but still produces at a rate. He has 0.302/.384/.504 batting line and 142 WRC+ throughout his minor league career. This includes the .278/.383/.476 line and 130 WRC+ in this year’s triple A. However, in the three years since it was drafted, he has limited to 583 sets.
Despite all the setbacks, it seems possible that he will help guardians at the major league level this year. He first arrived at Triple-A in late 2024 and then came to the camp this year as an invitation from a non-garrison. He was far away from the opening lineup before the core muscle surgery pulled him out of commission. He was back, for months on the field, could have been summoned to help the guards, but now there is little chance. With his schedule, he won’t be back until September.
The guards could give him some major league game time, but they might have played in the playoffs. Although they have been in the outfield for a while, they may not want to rely on a potential client who has missed so much time, so maybe he will end his season by playing in more minor league games. He will be eligible for the Rule 5 draft this winter, so anyway, the guards will add him to the roster in the coming months. Perhaps this could lead to Delauter making his major league debut, especially if the club is not controversial later this year.
Once he gets into the roster, if he is healthy, there is a way to play time. Driveway Thomas He has been hurt most of the year and is about to become a free agent. Will Brennan Recovering from Tommy John’s surgery and has been a low-dominated batsman in the major leagues. He has the choice left. Nolan Jones,,,,, Ángel Martínez and John Rodríguez All are struggling this year. Steven Kwan It has been in some kind of trade speculation, but it seems likely to stay.
