Tiger Woods will not be participating in this year’s Ryder Cup unless it is an unforeseen development.
However, his son tried to take the host class.
Charlie Woods competed in this week’s Junior PGA Championship at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in Indiana and tied for the second round in a row – with a spot in the Junior Ryder Cup on September 23 and 24 at Nassau Country Club and September 25 at Bethpage Blackpage Black. Woods opened a junior high school PGA on Tuesday with a small amount below 70 before taking action on Wednesday and Thursday with 66 seconds.

Before Friday, Woods was encouraged. He beat nine birdies in the second and third rounds.
“My round is very up and down, which gave me a heart attack,” Woods told Lafayette Express and Diary. “But the nine birdies are pretty good. A few of the three putts, I made some mistakes today, but generally quite stable. The position is very good tomorrow.”
Young Forest can still make junior Ryder Cup team a junior Ryder Cup team through the assigned captain’s draft pick, although it seems unlikely. As for his 15-time big winner father, he was fixed as captain of the US Ryder Cup but turned down his position last year on the grounds that he worked on the PGA Tour.
“Due to my new responsibility for tour and time commitments, I feel I will not be able to invest time and players as the time required by the captain,” Woods said in a statement issued by the PGA last July. “This does not mean I don’t want to be a team in the future. If and when I feel it’s the right time, I’ll put on a hat and let this committee make a decision.”
In terms of girls in junior high school PGA events, Talley ranked first and Zoe Cusack was runner-up.
