King, Doug Christie finalizes long-term agreement

The Sacramento Kings are committed to Doug Christie as head coach on a multi-year contract. ESPN's Shams Charania first reported.
Christie temporarily holds the position after Mike Brown was fired in late December. The Kings started with a 20-11 record under Christie, but only scored 7-13 in the next 20 games.
Midway through Christie's first run as leader this season, De'aaron Fox was traded to the San Antonio Spurs and Zach Lavine returned from the Chicago Bulls on a three-team contract.
Sacramento finished tenth in the West 40-42. It's 22-18 at home and 17-25 on the road.
There are speculation that the King may be away from Christie after Scott Perry was brought into the new general manager earlier this month after Monte McNair left.
Kings will roll the ball during the offseason
With the head coach working, Perry will seek to solve the roster through drafts, free agents and trades.
At the end of his season, Perry spoke about the need to address the need to address the point guard position. This is very ironic considering the Kings have just moved to Fox and have previously traded Tyrese Haliburton, who has since entered the all-NBA star.
When talking to the media, Perry did emphasize that the lineup would not be removed. In addition to point guards, he also believes that “length and athleticism” is needed.
How to achieve it remains to be seen.
There will certainly be speculation about Domantas Sabonis and whether he can really be the core work of winning. Demar DeRozan showed his athleticism in the offense of the ball, but has been struggling on the defensive end. Zach Lavine can say the same.
Two head coaches stay on temporary tags
In Christie's official recruitment, Memphis Grizzlies head coach Thomas Iisalo and Denver Nuggets head coach David Adelman were the only ones left with temporary tags.
Memphis has just begun evaluating the situation of its season after a first-round sweep. Denver will wait and see how its playoffs will perform before making any decisions. Currently, the Nuggets tied for 2-2 with the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round series.
