Carlos Alcaraz's comparison of Rafael Nadal, Ibiza Trips and coping expectations

In one scene, the moment Alcaraz smashed the racket after the second round loss at the Cincinnati Open.

“The truth is, my spirit is not enough to overcome all the stress,” he said.

“I don’t know if I need to quit or lose my passion.”

Alkaraz also talked about the impact of his failure in the 2023 French Open semi-finals by Novak Djokovic, who has since decided to go on vacation to Ibiza.

“I basically want to go there and waste it,” he said.

“I made the most of it because I knew I might not have been like this for three days again. When I came back, I won the Queen and Wimbledon.

“I’m not saying that parties can help me win, but taking a vacation is good for me.”

Last year, Alcaraz returned to Ibiza with suggestions from his agent Albert Molina Lopez and coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Shortly thereafter, his Queen's championship defense ended in the second round by Britain's Jack Draper – although Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in the Wimbledon final later that month.

“We all know he shouldn't go to Ibiza,” Ferrero said.

Previously No. 1 in the world, he previously coached Alexander Zverev, who was sometimes frustrated with his protein.

“We have created the greatest players here because of his ability and opportunity,” he said. “But if he wasn't that determined, [if] He can rank 15th in the world and then we will lower our expectations.

“But knowing my way, I think it’s hard for me to work with him.”

In the final scene, Alcaraz wants to know if he has the “mindset” of “becoming the greatest player in history.”

“Well, now, I don't know.” “I'm still young and I have a lot of things ahead, but from what I've lived in so far, I definitely prefer to put happiness before any achievement.

“Happiness is an achievement, and happiness is not always so easy to find.”
