Edwards scored layups in the third quarter, scoring 17th and 18th points in the game, reaching 1,051 points, surpassing Garnett's franchise record of 1,049. The three-time All-Star team achieved feats in eight fewer playoff games.

According to basketball reference, Edwards also passed six NBA players in the league's ever-present playoff scoring list – Toni Kukoc, Jamal Crawford, Hedo Turkoglu, Hersey Hablkins, Bryon Russell and Eddie Jones.

Anthony Edwards scored 32 points (46.2%) from 26 shots, 1 (46.2%) from 3-pointers, 7 points (11.1%) from the free throw line, 7 points (70%) from the free throw line.

The fifth-grade veteran now scored 1,065 points in 39 professional playoff games. He lags behind Trevor Arisa (1,074), Zelmo Beaty (1,071) and Larry Nance (1,070) on the league's all-time roster.

Despite making history on Thursday night, the second game wasn't Edwards' best shot. Edwards' layup brought Minnesota into 53-50 within three points, reaching halftime with just 1:09, but NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander answered shortly afterwards with a three-pointer.

Since then, games have never been truly competitive. Wolves exceeded 35-21 in the third quarter, while Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 38 points on 12 of 21 shots, while also adding eight assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams scored 26 points and 10 rebounds on 12 of 20 shots, scoring a double-double. Minneapolis native Chet Holmgren also waved 22 points, highlighting in the third quarter Grand Slam that he had a technical foul after taunting.

Minnesota's Jaden McDaniels also scored 22 points, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 17 points. Although the Timberwolves faced a two-game deficit in the seventh game, the Wolves were at home 4-1 in the playoffs and won the second-biggest award in the league.

“Every minute in the series is a chance to find something,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. “So we're going home. It's a good team at home. So we're going home to fight for Game 3. Look up, look at the tape, get ready for Game 3.”

According to ESPN statistics and information, Edwards also entered his 30th professional playoff game with at least 20 points, ranking second in team history (Garnett, 31). But if the Timberwolves want to come back in this series, the 23-year-old will have to shoot better from the depths.
