Who makes the first move at PIF ATP Turin Live?
We’re already four weeks into the new season, and while it’s still early days, many stars are already off to a great start as they compete to qualify for this year’s Nitto ATP Finals.
Carlos Alcaraz made history at the Australian Open and topped the list. The 22-year-old defeated Novak Djokovic in four sets in the final to become the youngest player in history to complete a career Grand Slam. The Spaniard, who now has seven major titles under his belt, is seeking a fourth consecutive appearance in Turin, where he reached the final last year.
Djokovic reached the Grand Slam final for the first time since Wimbledon in 2024, ranking second in live competition. The 38-year-old Serbian became the first player to reach 400 Grand Slam wins en route to the Melbourne Championships, and he also became the oldest Australian Open finalist in the Open Era. Djokovic, a record seven-time Nitto ATP Finals champion, holds a 5-5 record in the Lexus ATP series against Alcaraz.

After reaching the semi-finals in Melbourne, Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner are ranked third and fourth respectively behind Djokovic. Zverev, a two-time champion of the prestigious year-end event, led Alcaraz 5-3 in the fifth set but failed to cross the finish line. Sinner hopes to return to Turin in November and lift the trophy for the third consecutive year.
Lorenzo Musetti, Jakub Mencic, Alex De Minaur and Ben Shelton rounded out the top eight. Musetti reached the quarterfinals in Australia but was forced to retire two sets ahead of Djokovic. De Minaur and Shelton both advanced to the quarterfinals in Melbourne, while the 20-year-old Mensik reached the fourth round in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. Musetti, De Minaur and Shelton all played in Turin last year.
The Nitto ATP Finals will be held from November 15th to 22nd at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
