Bulls “division” on BYU defender Egor Demin

The Chicago Bulls are believed to be “divided” on BYU guard Egor Demin at the 2025 NBA Draft. This is based on a report by Joe Cowley Chicago Sun Age.

Currently, the Bulls will be ranked 12th in the draft and will face competition as some people are expected to get higher and higher.

At 6-foot-9, Demin is a 6-foot-10-inch wingspan, and is a Russian guard with an attractive size in position. In Brigham Young’s 33 games, Demin averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals. He is considered the most talented passer in the class, but his jump shot is considered a problem.

He shot only 27.3% of the 3-point shooting percentage at the free throw line, at 69.5%. At 19, he had enough time to improve his shots, especially if the right team believed him.

Cowley’s report also shows that the Bulls didn’t consider Maryland center Derik Queen as appropriate. His sources indicated concerns about the Queen’s athleticism and his inability to adapt to the performance style of head coach Billy Donovan.

The Bulls have enough thoughts at the defender position

Josh Giddey, who bought him last summer, is expected to re-restrict free agents. He may be with Coby White as the starting backcourt.

The Bulls also own Ayo Dosunmu and headed to Kevin Huerter for a trade on the trade deadline. It has to be decided whether to bring back Tre Jones, Jevon Carter and Talen Horton-Tucker.

The Bulls may see Dem as a long-term prospect. Then putting people like Giddey and White in place will allow Demin to develop without too much stress.

Of course, the other side of the coin is that the best way to develop him is to make the most of his game opportunities.

It’s a tricky part of Chicago, a franchise that has struggled for years to choose a definite path between reconstruction and competition.
