Cameron Norrie beats Lorenzo Sonego to reach Mosel Open final in Metz

Britain’s Cameron Norrie reached the 2025 final for the first time with a three-set victory over Lorenzo Sonego at the Mosel Open.

The 30-year-old seventh-seeded Norrie has been taken the long way in each of her first three games in Metz, fighting back from a set down to win in two of those games.

Italian Sonego took the first set in the semi-finals and Nori won 4-6 6-2 6-4 in two full hours.

Nori, ranked 27th in the world and 15 spots ahead of Sonego, saved two break points early in the second set.

After that, Norrie encountered some troubles in his serve. With an 83% first serve hit rate, Norrie created many break opportunities and finally secured the victory in the 10th game of the deciding set.

Noori will face Ukraine’s Vitaliy Sachko or American Tian Jin in Saturday’s final.
