Team USA’s Ryder Cup puzzle? Justin Rose thinks they’re wrong

The Ryder Cup narrative has been around for some time, with Team USA being a collection of 12 people and Europe being a cohesive unit. It is this kind of friendliness and solidarity that makes Europeans look weaker on paper, and often exceed expectations.
“For European players, the Ryder Cup is about history,” Justin Rose said after winning the Americans two years ago. “More specifically, it’s about your chances of increasing history. It’s about a small role played in a collective story that has been ongoing for decades. The whole privilege of this week is the opportunity to help write the next chapter.”
Jon Rahm added: “It’s the ability to walk through those doors and those doors and forget people outside this week.
“We are now the caregivers of this European jersey,” Rory McIlroy said on the day. “We hope to get through it better in the future than we found.”

Americans seem to have spent years chasing formulas to be a team, and this particular sauce will allow them to ascend on the journey while maintaining dominance at home. Europe has won eight of the last 11 Ryder Cups, winning three games on American soil since the last time the U.S. crossed the pond and won the victory.
Of course, the success of the Ryder Cup in Europe is more than just singing, enjoying each other and expressing appreciation for their place in history. The European team has a meticulous plan to prepare it for anything during the Biennale competition and provide players with the confidence they need to deal with any situation.
Anyway, Americans have been chasing an identity, and it has been a while since looking for a way to design a formula they think they are missing.
While Captain Keegan Bradley believes the 2025 US Ryder Cup team is the “closeest” he has ever seen, Ross believes that the US’s gaze on chemistry is something they attack in the wrong way.
“The American team has certainly made more connections in recent years, and I think they do have a lot of good friendships,” Ross said in a Q&A session before opening through Justin Rose Ladies earlier this month. “But I think Americans have kind of… They think being a great team is about being the best companion. I don’t really think it’s a great team. Being a great team is a really good theme and having an identity from the players you were before, and you all love that vision.
“You don’t have to have the greatest time in the world to do this. Although inevitably, we do have a great time. I think the United States has worked hard to be a team, while Europe is more natural and organic, and I think that is a deeper source in some way.”

It was an out-of-the-box decision and was held at Captain Bradley at Bethpage Black for a showdown. Although Bradley played his own way in the conversation to make his own team, Bradley’s captain received good reviews from players, including World One Scottie Scheffler. For Scheffler, there is a captain who is still one of the best players in the world, and he created a different atmosphere as the team got together.
“He brought the intensity of the captain – I mean, he certainly exceeded my expectations when it comes to captaining. He did a great job.” “He was passionate about the Ryder Cup. He cared so much about us as players. It was very interesting to watch him develop in this role and we were very happy to start the Ryder Cup.
When asked how Bradley was a captain who improved his attorney status, Scheffler left some news in our lockers from time to time. “I just feel that, because Keegan is a lot here compared to other captains in the past – not that they are not doing well. He’s here every week after week. He is someone we know very well. I like our former captains very much. I love all of our captains, but I think when we show up, I want to play more exercises in the week, I want to be in the week of exercises, so I think a lot of opportunities. I think that’s part of what we play here.
Finally, Bradley chose not to join the team. He wanted to win all his focus as captain and make selfless decisions to transfer his dreams to the Ryder Cup dream and become a player to do what he thought was best for the team.
Meanwhile, Europe will return to 11 of the 12 players of Roma’s winning team, with Rasmus Hojggard replacing his brother Nicolai. The 2023 Ryder Cup ends with McIlroy, who promises that Europe will win at Bethpage Black this year.
Here is the comment Bradley made sure his team heard. But with the Ryder Cup one week a week, it’s time for the U.S. to focus on the U.S. to see if their soul search has paid off in two years since Italy was in trouble.
“I don’t care what Europe is doing, I just care about our 12 people, our caddies, our wives. I just care about what we are doing,” Bradley said on the Procore Championship last week. “They are a confident team and should be. They won the last Ryder Cup and their team is solid. Luke Donald is perhaps the best captain ever, someone I’ve always looked up to. So they should be full of confidence, but I don’t really – I really don’t care – I really don’t care how they think of us, I just care about our team.”
