Bucks re-sign Chris Livingston for one year on $2.3 million

Chris Livingston will re-determine a one-year, $2.3 million deal, Chris Livingston told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Wednesday. Livingston, the 58th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, received a guaranteed contract for the third consecutive year.

Bucks give up Chris Livingston earlier this month

After giving up the 6-foot-6 wings two weeks ago, the Bucks decided to bring Livingston back. The Ohio native worked hard to earn a few minutes in two seasons in Milwaukee, with a total of 42 appearances (one start), averaging 1.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 4.7 minutes per game.

Livingston scored 10 points and six rebounds in a blowout loss on February 3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-96 in his first NBA career start. While he missed all four 3-point attempts, he scored 4 points (40%) from the field, while the foul line was 4-4 (50%).

Livingston turned 22 on October 22 and is also associated with Wisconsin herders in the Milwaukee G League. In 18 games last season’s Bulls, he averaged 18.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 29.5 minutes per game, while the floor shot 48.6% while Deep shot 28.3% from the field.

As Charania noted, Livingston proposed a new deal in the summer league after being exempted a few weeks ago to help maximize Milwaukee’s cap space.

In three games in Las Vegas, he averaged 20 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field and over 37.5% from the arc.

Milwaukee takes multiple actions during the offseason

When the Bucks report a deal with Livingston and Cole Anthony is completed, the club will have guaranteed salaries of 14 players. Meanwhile, Andre Jackson signed a partially guaranteed contract.

Earlier this month, the Bucks shocked the NBA community to free up blocking space to sign center Myles Turner when the Bucks chose to give up and stretch veteran Damian Lillard.

Turner agreed to a four-year, $107 million deal to replace Brook Lopez, who signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. Over the next five seasons, Lillard will beat the Bucks for $22.5 million.

Additionally, Ryan Rollins agreed to return to Milwaukee’s three-year, $12 million deal. The 23-year-old’s new deal brings player options in his third season.

Gary Trent Jr. also agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million contract to retain the Bucks. The second year includes player options for each SpotRac. Trent joined the Bucks in July last year with a one-year, $2.61 million deal.
