Dean Burmester is the qualifier choice as 20 players won a spot in 153road Opened on Royal Portrait through the final qualifying match.
The 153rd Open will be held at Royal Portrush from 13 to 205 July 2025. Five positions are available at each venue in the Open.

The final qualifying spot was OJ Farrell, whose early championship scored enough six and his score was enough six to ensure the British got a girl appearance in a big championship game.

Dundonard
Former world No. 1 Lee Westwood is the leading qualifier for Dundonald Links to secure his 28th appearance at Royal Porthush Open. The 52-year-old Brit was under par in the second round after the morning round, and after the turn started, lifting the gears after the turn, four birdies ended with five under par on the second hole (his 11th).
Play as partners Angel Hidalgo and Daniel Young shoot further to secure their place in the championship game. Hidalgo won the first match of the DP World Tour last year on Acciona Open De Espana, qualifying for the finals at Dundonald for the second year in a row, while Young bounced back from disappointment of missing last year, following him and making his public debut at Porthush.

Sweden’s Jesper Sandborg will debut at the Open after five-fifths of five under par (his 9th).
Walker Cup player Connor Graham finished the game with 4 under par and made a painful wait to see if it was enough to qualify before fellow countryman Paul O’Hara got the same mark. The former R&A junior Open champion showed his balance was winning the first extra hole in an eight-foot birdie putt to secure his open berth.

“I first played in the Open in 1995, when I was qualified in Leven and I thought it was a pleasure to come back here and try to get another match at Royal Prothush. It was a great golf course, and the last time I played there, I finished fourth in 2019, so that’s another reason. The Open Champion is a great champion of the golf tournament.

Royal Fishing Territory
South Africa’s Dean Burmester won the first qualifying spot at Royal Cinque Ports, 70 in the morning, followed by 64 course records in the afternoon. Burmester will play in the fourth open match with a 134-under-par sprint.
British Nathan Kimsey and Curtis Knipes ranked second with tie in the six-under six. Although Kimsey will debut his main title this month, Knipes returns to Real Porthush for the second time after qualifying for the 148th Open in 2019 and is the youngest player in the field.

Lucas Herbert led the qualifiers in West Lancashire and won the chances earlier this season at the New Zealand Open and Sky Sport and the Macau earlier this season.
