Newcastle United beat Barcelona and Real Madrid to sign Antonio Codero

Newcastle United is expected to reveal their first signing for the summer transfer window, according to Ipaper, where 18-year-old Spanish winger Antonio Cordero will join Hipies next month.
The promising young man is considered one of the rising talents of Spain, and Newcastle successfully defeated the fierce competition between European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona to secure his signature.
Born in Jerez, southern Spain, Cordero began his football journey at local clubs including Cadiz, Sevilla and Real Betis before landing in Malaga in 2021.
Antonio Cordero is a smart, young talent
His time in Malaga saw him thriving, especially in their “Team B”, named himself in the fifth floor of Spain, earning an impressive 12 goals in just 17 games.
The young man impressed them when the boy scouts from some of the top European clubs saw him playing in the game.
These pies will continue to invest in the goals of young players who can continue to be future stars, whether it’s for their team or making big money from transfers.
Cordero's consistent performance has earned him the call from Malaga's first team, who made his debut in 2023.
He has since established himself as a regular starter, amassing 32 appearances in La Liga 2 this season.
Newcastle United will be able to sign soon

Newcastle first contacted Cordero in January to explore the possibility of a pre-contract agreement. The conversation went smoothly, and the young winger and his family even visited Tyneside earlier this year.
Cordero is expected to complete the final phase of the transfer in June. However, it is understood that he will not join Eddie Howe's first team immediately. Instead, Newcastle plans to loan him out for more first-team experience.
