Brave put Austin Riley on injured list

The Brave has placed the Third Baseman Austin Riley According to the team’s announcement, a list of 10-day injuries caused by abdominal pressure. Atlanta also chose outfielder Jarred Kelenic Go to Triple-A Gwinnett. Replaces Riley and Carrenick, infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr. and Jonathan Ornelas Recalled by Gwennett.
Riley, 28, also missed the abdominal strain last month for about two weeks. He only recovered from the list of injured on July 25. This will drop with a brief return – Riley doesn’t look right. He brought two home runs between my IL tenure, but out of a total of 39 plate appearances, it was two of four hits. Riley hit .108/.154/.297 and hit 15 times (38.5%) before returning to the injured list.
It was a year of overall decline for Riley. His .260/.309/.428 batting line (104 WRC+) is stable enough, but it is also his lowest-produced run since its mid-2019 debut and the 2020 season shortened. Riley’s walking and strikeout rate was both the worst in his career throughout 162 seasons (6% and 28.6%, respectively), and this year’s .168 ISO (average hit average) is the worst in any season he has at the major league level.
The team did not provide a timeline for Riley’s potential returns. In this case, it is common, after a brief return, the player returns to Illinois to cause the same injury, with the second game being longer and more cautious. However, each injury is a situation in itself. Manager Brian Snitker will probably get more information the next time he meets with the media.
Kelenic, 26, appeared in only one game against the Braves, without recording the plate. He was used as a pinch runner. Atlanta chose to head to Gwinnett for his first 65 sets with a tough season in mid-April with a bleak 0.167/.231/.300 batting line. In Triple-A, things weren’t much better, he made a 308-set appearance, delivering only the .218/.289/.321 slash and delivering at a strikeout rate of 27.3%. He will be eligible for arbitration for the second time this winter, and at this point he will be a clear non-standby candidate.
Alvarez suffered a wrist injury most of the season. He struggled with 32 major league appearances, but on Gwinnett’s 84 trips was a base machine (.242/.405/.333). After he ranked in the system’s more promising underage league for several years, he is still seeking to break through in his full-time role in Atlanta.
When Ornelas first competed, his Braves will make his debut. Atlanta picked up the 25-year-old in cash exchange with the Rangers after Texas designated the 25-year-old. He is an experienced swing infielder in second, third and shortstop. Ornelas beat only .184/.245/.224 in three seasons of three seasons with Rangers. He is a great runner with solid gloves and his ability to light up. This season, he spins a mild .202/.320/.300 batting line in 319 sets between Texas and Atlanta.
