Brave Promotion Hayden Harris, DFA Wander Suero

Braves announced Tuesday that they chose a contract for left-handed pitching prospects Hayden Harris From Triple-A Gwinnett. Right-leaning Hunter Straton Selected, Rightywander Suero is designated as a pair of corresponding actions. Atlanta has added infielders ha-seong kimThey asked for exemptions from the rays to the active roster. Jurickson Profar Go to the paternity test list to clear Kim Jong Il’s active lineup.
Harris, an undrafted free agent in southern Georgia in 2022, has moved completely from Prospect Radar to the dominant bull arm of the upper minor. He released the mid-4.00 era in 2023 and 2024, his first two full professional seasons, but this season had a 0.56 ERA in 48 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. In 48 innings, he made his 41% opponents ramble with a 9% walking rate.
Harris doesn’t have amazing speeds, and his four-pin gauge in the Triple-A averages only 91.7 mph. This year, he still has a sway rate of 14% among minors. MLB.com ranked him 27th in Brave Prospects and noted that he was a pure relief prospect that didn’t overwhelm anything, but because of deceptive delivery, his heater missed the bat and added the court.
This is Harris’ first member in the major league roster. Entering the 2026 season, he will have a range of options and can control it for at least six years. He’ll give Atlanta another fun left-handed option Aaron Bummer,,,,, Dylan Lee and Dylan Doddall of them have been promoting the 4.00 era during the healthy period this season. (It’s currently stuck on the list of injuries due to shoulder inflammation.)
Suero, 33, spent most of his career with nationals competing in divisions, but has begun to bounce back in recent years by tour. From 2018-20 he gave Nats 142 2/3 innings 4.10 ERA Ball (3.73 Siera) but has struggled since then, throwing 57 MLB frameworks in Nats, Dodgers, Astros and now Braves and 7.11 ERAs between 7.11 ERAs. Along the way, he also had a minor league in the Angels.
Suero was outstanding at Gwinnett, posting a 1.35 ERA in 46 2/3 innings, a strikeout rate of 31.2% and a 6.9% walking rate. However, that’s not enough to keep him in the 40-man squad, and now he’ll give up completely in the next few days. Any team that claims Suero can control two more seasons in arbitration, as 15 days of Atlanta’s Grand League service are enough to push him to four years of service. Suero is viable for the rest of the season, but will not exceed the minor league choice in 2026.
