Brandon Woodruff recovers with elbow contusion

Brandon Woodruff Trying to return to Major League Baseball spin has hit another obstacle. The winemaker announced Thursday afternoon that the veteran starter suffered a contusion in his right elbow during the start of his recovery at Triple-A Nashville yesterday. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reported that the team expects sideline Woodruff to be injured for weeks. He has been ordered to rehabilitate.
Last night’s start should be Woodruff’s last minor league tune. He is expected to recover from the injury list next week. He was drilled onto his elbow by a comer, causing the batsman’s bat to drill him at 108 mph. The X-ray found no fractures, but it was a painful and frustrating setback as he approached returning to the American family realm.
Woodruff has recovered from shoulder surgery since the end of the 2023 campaign. He missed the entire ’24 season and slowly took everything in this spring training. Milwaukee sent him to his initial rehabilitation job in mid-April. A few weeks later, he was pulled back due to mild ankle tendonitis. Ten days later, he embarked on a new mission and started on his third job yesterday. At least nothing is structured. Still, it will stay for a few more weeks and may require another recovery.
Steve Adams of MLBTR wrote about the Milwaukee rotation last week, observing that it is stronger than some people think, depending on the patchwork nature of its early seasons. This is partly based on Woodruff’s expected return. They are welcome recently Jose Quintana Return from damage. Here are the five that start, including Freddy Peralta,,,,, Quinn Priester,,,,, Aarons and Chad Patrick. The 26-year-old Patrick had an impressive rookie season, but once Woodruff returned, it was a candidate. (He and Priester are the two of five who can be sent down.) Unless they are injured, they may stick to this round in the next few weeks.
