Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke will undergo arthroscopy to resolve the problem of knee synovitis he suffered during offseason training, the team announced Friday.
Brandon Clarke of Grizzlies is expected to return in November
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, sources close to the team told the network that Clark is expected to re-evaluate within six weeks. However, Memphis did not disclose the timeline.
The Grizzlies added that Clark is expected to fully recover from his synovitis, a synovial inflammation that affects the lining of the knee.
Clarke, 29, missed the last month of the 2024-25 season and completely healed without surgery. Last season, he averaged 8.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 64 games (18 games).

The former first-rounder has handled many lower body injuries throughout his career as he has never played 64 regular season games in his first six seasons at Memphis.
In addition to knee synovitis and PCL strains, he tore the left follow-up tendon late in the 2022-23 season and missed most of the following year.
Each Spotrac, Clark has two years and $25 million left on his contract. This is part of the four-year rookie scale extension he signed with Memphis in 2022.
Zach Edey, Jaren Jackson Jr. Damage Update
Clarke’s injury was announced as one of the Grizzlies’ injuries updates on Friday.
Memphis also revealed that center Zach Eddie (ankle) and forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (toe) have been cleared to start strengthening basketball activities.
The Grizzlies said Edey will miss six to nine weeks of loss, while Jackson is expected to return in four to six weeks.
In 66 games (55 games) against Memphis last season, Eddie averaged 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.3 blocks and 21.5 minutes per game, while shooting 58% from the field, 34.6% and 70.9% of the foul line.
According to basketball reference, he ranks 17th with rebounds per game, 8th with offensive rebounds (232), 6th with offensive rebounds (3.5) (3.5) and 20th with blocks (85).
Edey was named the NBA All-Rookie first team, and he ranked fifth in the Rookie of the Year vote.
Meanwhile, Jackson entered his eighth season. Last season, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year 2022-23 became the only player to score 1,500 points and 100 blocks.
When Jackson was on the court, Memphis had a defensive efficiency of 108.3 and 113.9 when he got off the car. He also recorded at least 100 three-pointers and 100 blocks for the fourth straight season, the longest winning streak in league history.
