Rashee Rice’s disciplinary hearing has been set

According to sources spoken by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chief’s lenient catcher Rashee Rice, a discipline hearing is scheduled for New York. Sue L. Robinson, a former U.S. District Court judge who was appointed as a discipline officer in the league by the NFL and the NFL Players Association, is currently hearing the case.

He is expected to hold a late September hearing in late September, and the Chiefs’ first four games are expected to face any potential discipline he had in multiple crashes last season, which has injured multiple people. Rice pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges in the District Court, and his statutory case could be dismissed if he could complete a mandatory five-year probation.

“All I can do is focus on what I can control right now, and that’s what I do best on the field,” Rice said earlier this month. “I learned the valuable value of any opportunity and moment. It’s here that we were able to be on the field and be coach Reed, have such a great quarterback, and honestly, it’s a gift, a blessing. I’ve completely changed. Honestly, you have to learn from something like that.

No QB decision for Brown, Giant or Saint

According to NFL.com, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski didn’t say who would be the team’s preseason quarterback against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he confirmed it wasn’t Joe Flacco. He also said it was too early to say whether rookie Dillon Gabriel is healthy enough to play this weekend as he continued to cause a leg injury with his hamstring. The only fully healthy quarterback on the current roster is Snoop Huntley, who signed with the team on August 5.

Even though they have few injuries, the New York Giants have not made a decision on the starter at the preseason center this weekend. Head coach Brian Daboll said he hopes to make the decision after today’s team drill.

Finally, New Orleans head coach Kellen Moore told reporters he is still not sure who will be the Saints’ starting QB against the Jaguars on Sunday. Spencer Rattler is the team’s first preseason starter.

Former All-Pro Guard Brandon Scherff says it quits

Five-time professional bowler Brandon Scherff announced he will retire after spending ten seasons in the league. Scherff, who finished the fifth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, spent the first part of his career as a Washington Commander before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2022 offseason, staying with him.

“It’s something I can never dream of,” he said. “Sometimes I’ll tell my wife she has to pinch me because I’m playing kids games and it’s amazing to be able to do it as a job. Now, it’s absolutely great to have kids and be able to see them after the game. So I’ll say it’s a dream come true. I’ll be forever grateful for the chance.”

Crow and Commander cancel joint exercise

In a surprising move, the Washington Commander and the Baltimore Ravens jointly agreed to cancel the planned joint practice on August 21. The Crow believes that the “logistical challenge” is the reason for the cancellation.

“Recognizing the logistical challenge – our team’s previous games are scheduled for different days – the Ravens and Commanders agree that no longer joint practice will be conducted next week, which will increase the impact on players entering just one week.” “Instead, we will focus on preparing for the upcoming preseason.”

“Sometimes, the schedule doesn’t sync,” Commander Dan Quinn told reporters before today’s practice. “Last night I visited Harbaugh with Harbaugh and he always chose the best option for the players. So, every once in a while, it didn’t sync. We were frustrated; we had a lot of respect for them and looked forward to it, but we’ll see them in those days.”

New defense in ATL

Cornerback CJ Henderson is signing a deal with the Atlanta Falcons to await his physical outcomes. The former ninth pick has spent the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers in the 2020 NFL Draft. Last year, he recorded 39 tackles and 2 pass deflections in 12 games.

Chargers, Cowboys, Vikings and Steelers will name their starting QB this week

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Justin Herbert would be the starting quarterback against the Rams. He added that Khalil Mack and Derwin James were the only starters not to play.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer announced that Joe Milton III will play against the Baltimore Ravens as a quarterback. In addition, first-round draft pick Tyler Booker is expected to be the NFL preseason debut.

After the first preseason starts, quarterback JJ McCarthy will not play the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. Instead, Sam Howell will be the starting quarterback on Saturday.

Aaron Rodgers will once again not play in the Pittsburgh Steelers fields, while Mason Rudolph will be the starting quarterback for the Black and Gold medals. In addition, head coach Mike Tomlin said that the players who sat down last week will not play again this week.
