Sunday’s battle marks the fifth straight fight for Junto Nakatani to compete for the WBC World Blowweight Championship. The Japanese power plant won the belt in February 2024 and has previously won world titles in both FlyGeight and Super-Flyawight.
For Nishida’s Ryosuke, he won the IBF World Blowweight title in two battles to beat Emmanuel Rodriguez. In fact, Nishida became the world champion in his ninth battle, and Nakatani didn’t achieve this feat until the 21st round.
